    When plugged in, the PS3 displays a red power light, once pressed, it lights up green for less than a second, and quickly turns off completely, not lighting up again or doing anything unless you unplug the power cord and plug it back in. To try to fix the problem, I replaced the power supply with one I found "Tested & Working" on eBay, that didn't fix the issue so I most of the console, including the main board (being sure not to be too hard on any resistors or MOSFETs). That still didn't fix the issue but I did see that, when the power button is initially pushed, the fan tries to start, twitching a couple times but ceasing not even before the power-on beep is over. To me, this makes it seem like there's a short somewhere on the main board; I couldn't check for one since I don't have any multimeter at home, but I did visibly check and I didn't see any visible scoring or damage. I believe in you being able to fix it or at least find the problem, but, I know it might be difficult, so completely understand if you're not able.
