    I have an issue with a custom build ps4 controller where the R1 button is not working any more. The controller is made by a company in the US called Evil Controllers – there are custom bumper/triggers and I’ve assessed the difference vs stock controller – inside a regular / stock PS4 controller, there is the rubber strip with 2 connector touch points, one for each of the R1/R2 bumper / triggers…
    inside this custom PS4 controller made by Evil Controllers there is only one rubber connector block which is for the R2 right trigger. The R1 bumper has been configured as a “tactile press” button. From what I can see taking the controller apart there is a small electronics block under the R1 / L1 bumpers with a tiny plastic contact point which depresses on the action of pressing the R1 / L1 bumpers. There doesn’t appear to be any issue with the motion or the contact, but without better tools / experience I am reluctant to try and dismantle the entire board and assess the electronics components.
