  - As electronic engineers ourselves we have already diagnosed the fault to be one of the rs232 comms chips, namely the MC1454060, we have also already purchased the chips. Our plan was to replace the chip ourselves but now having second thoughts about that as the equipment we have may not be suitable.
    Would it be possible for you guys to change the chip for us? Nothing needs to be diagnosed or tested just desolder remove replace and resolder.
    As we are near Taunton we can drop the board off and collect when done.
