I have a Skycaddie SGX golf rangefinder. It has worked perfectly for the 5 years (approx.) that I have owned it. Last Thursday I played and used it as normal, and then had torrential rain for the last 2 holes (about 25 minutes). The device got pretty wet. It has been wet before with no issues, but this was a real downpour. The device turned on and charged as usual when we got home and plugged it in with our USB/Micro USB lead.
Went to us it today (Saturday) and the unit would not turn on at the golf course. Got home and plugged in the USB to charge it again, and it turned on and charged as usual. Tried this while the USB was NOT connected to power, and it would not turn on.
So the conclusion is the On/Off switch or circuit / board will not work – is this something you would be able to look at and fix ? The back cover is fairly easily opened up but TORX tamperproof screwdrivers will be required.
