      • I have two units with the exact same problem. Both DS1815+ will not power on. Both already have the 100 ohm resistor fix applied. Both have been tested with a short between the green and black wires (due to a likely Q4 transistor failure) and I can get as far as a flashing power light. I have ruled out the memory as the cause of the problem. I have tested the resistor which was already applied to these boards and they show as 100 ohm. The1k ohm fix has not been applied to either but I believe that the wire short should allow the boot. These were purchased thinking that I could apply the 100 ohm resistor fix and both initially worked when I applied the short to ground fix between green and black wires from the PSU. Note that while one board is immaculate the second board had extensive liquid damage and I had removed much internal corrosion by hand before powering on.

The requested repair was also carried out efficiently, and I am very pleased with the result. I have dropped one star in my review because the repair included replacing a red/green LED, and the red LED is so bright that the surrounding fabric is also illuminated, whereas the green LED is quite dim and can only be seen from certain angles. I guess that EP found it difficult to procure the original LED component which is undoubtedly a B&W special.
