The phone started to shut down randomly, sometimes restarting as well. I tried a reset which seemed to improve matters (no full reset, ie no data loss), but this 'improvement' was probably just random. Shortly afterwards it shut down and will not restart. So far as I know the battery is in decent condition – it has been charging and maintaining charge. When it restarted it did not show unexpectedly low charge. When plugging in power now, there is no buzz as is normal when power is supplied and charging starts. I assume the power management circuits have failed, or there is a connection fault on the battery which was intermittent but is now permanent.
