The screen is just blank white with a series of thin black vertical lines down the left hand side of the screen and a series of thin black horizontal lines along the bottom. I assume that it could well be the battery, but I'm not sure. If I press the ON button at the back, the little blue square appears for a short time but the screen remains the same. I have left it on charge for some time, but the position remains the same
