Half of the screen goes black and the part of the screen you can see flashes all over the place. I initially thought maybe LCD display was damaged but there is no visible crack. I also noticed that if it is open slightly, like a laptop, the screen doesn't come on. It only comes on if it is completely open, so I thought maybe it is a connection problem?

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
