Among our favorite wired headphone brands, Audio Technica sits conveniently toward the top of the list, and we’re not alone in thinking that. Amazon customers and people who know more about sound and audio signatures than me like and recommend them as well. If you’ve been wanting to grab a pair for a while or you just want to supplement your headphone collection with a relatively cheap but good addition, today’s your day.
Amazon has the Audio Technica ATH-M40X at an all-time low. According to Camelx3, these usually retail around the $99 mark, and very rarely dip below the $80 line. At $67, they might be getting close to impulse-buy territory, especially since they’re almost as cheap as the M30X (which are around $54 now). Details-wise, you’re looking at 40mm drivers, swiveling ear cups, and a carrying pouch.
For those of you who want to splurge for the higher-end ATH-M50X, Amazon is asking for $126, which isn’t the best price you can find on that headset. If you’re willing to venture outside of the safety of Amazon, you can find it for $119 on Adorama with a free $25 Adorama gift card. The headphones would then cost you a magical less-than-a-Franklin $94.
