First images of the upcoming Realme Watch leak

The above image is of the upcoming Realme Watch, the alleged new smartwatch from Realme. Its design is quite similar to that of the Fitbit Versa series. It’s set to be Realme’s second wearable after the Realme Band

According to XDA Developers, the watch will not run Android’s WearOS and will instead opt for a proprietary software OS to save on costs. The 1.4in LCD display will be 320×320 and run off a 160mAH battery.

With IP68, a heart rate sensor and exercise tracking it’s a fairly well-featured affair with the expected features, though there will reportedly not be built-in GPS functionality. You’ll have to take your phone with you if you want to fully track run distance.

Even though the device looks fairly basic, it shows how far smartwatch tech has come in a short space of time that it will include practically every feature a casual user could want with step counting, a stopwatch, weather, alarms, find my phone. The report even suggests you’ll be able to use it as a remote shutter button for your phone’s camera.

Realme is part of BBK Electronics, the company that owns OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo. Realme started as a sub-brand of Oppo and can still be considered such, as its phones share Oppo’s Color OS software.

The Realme Watch will also support Hindi, opening up the Indian market for the product. Affordable Android devices from companies like Xiaomi and Realme are incredibly popular in India, and the Watch will likely be primarily directed at that market, though there is not a release date. Realme CEO Madhav Sheth recently appeared in an official video saying it will be launched soon.
