Microsoft has revealed the new Xbox Wireless Headset, the first official wireless headset for the console family since the Xbox 360.
As well as being compatible with every console from the Xbox 360 generation onwards, the upgraded headset boasts great benefits for Xbox gamers. Headlines features include “best-in-class audio performance” with support for Dolby Atmos audio, a dedicated boom mic with noise isolation tech and auto-mute functionality for improved communications with your teammates and impressive low-latency wireless performance.
It’s also lightweight and comfortable to wear, according to Microsoft, thanks to a combination of large, soft earcups and a thick adjustable headband to help spread pressure more evenly over longer gaming sessions. Oh, and did we mention it’s also compatible with PC and mobile devices via Bluetooth?
While it didn’t launch alongside the Xbox Series X like Sony’s competing Pulse 3D headset for PS5, it seems Microsoft fans have a lot to look forward to from Microsoft’s official headset – which is why we gave it 4.5 stars in our Xbox Wireless Headset review.

The new Xbox Wireless headset was released on 16 March 2021 in most Xbox territories.
How much does the new Xbox Wireless Headset cost?
The Xbox Wireless Headset comes in at a cool £89.99/$99.99, making it the same price as Sony’s competing Pulse 3D headset for the PS5.
