it's really the headband thats the issue, but it snapped in the hinge. I could just replace the headband myself, I've done it before. This time, because the inside panel, just above the cups, seems to have cracked – more so on the left side than the right but both sides are cracked. These cracks were very gradual and I can't fix them without disassembly.
