Cable became faulty, no sound, microphone not connected either, and device not registered as being connected on computer. The volume/mic control still registers power going to the phones shown by the light so its not a complete connection break.
The exact position of the fault is difficult to determine as bending/pinching the wire in several different places above and below the sound control would fix the issue, but only temporarily. Headphones are connected via usb -have already tried different usb ports to see if the fault is there and not the phones but the results are the same.

All postal requirements were sent over and in the event the service was quick and painless and given notification of its safe arrival. As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player. Would definitely recommend EP and would use again where one can repair and reuse perfectly good equipment rather than unnecessarily throw it away. Many thanks EP. -
