      • The book mic on this headset is not working. I've found a YouTube clip that should demo how to fix the problem, but I don't have the time to do this myself.

        These headsets have a mic I can. Use to mute/unmute calls but raising the boom mic. I suspect the wire connecting this mic internally has broken or worn out. Hence this will need opening up and replacing… Soldering looks like it will be required.
