    I’ve recently acquired an Arcam AVR400 and after connecting all speakers (front and rear 8 ohm, centre 6 ohm, no sub) I've plugged in and turned on the receiver via the fascia button; the power light was initially yellow for a couple of seconds then glowed green for a second or two then went off. There was no display or red standby light. I can hear a faint hum, which shows power is getting to the unit but that’s all. None of the panel buttons or remote buttons have any effect. This was received in the post a few days ago without very secure packing and the delivery box was a bit damaged however on-line photos prior to dispatch show the unit working with illuminated fascia.
    I can return it but first would like to check the possibilities of repair. I appreciate you won’t really know until you have the unit in for assessment but I wondered if my description above might provide a clue as to what may have happened and possible repair cost.
