    The remote control on the above player has ceased to work; so I put new batteries in it – no difference. Then I tested it for emitting signals using my mobile 'phone camera – it appears to work. Then I tried using a universal remote control (there were only 2 codes relating to Arcam products, neither worked (but the codes were old and maybe wrong).

    So, it appears that it is the receiver in the player that is at fault.
