The sub amp powers on ok – with red standby light showing. As soon as a sound signal is fed into it the led turns green and the amp works ok for a while. But then it but switches itself off (even though the green still shows). I have to very quickly flick the power switch to get the amp to start working again.
Having removed the amp from its casing it looks like a thermistor (NTC 5,0 1644) has over heated and darkened the circuit board. Not sure if an adjacent capacitor is also damaged. X1CKX 334K 300V GMF

EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
