The left speaker is more quiet and the sound crashes. It can improve (but not always) after 5 -10 min.
I have to slap the top of the amp (Marantz PM7200 I bought 18yrs ago) to get the sound back to normal.1/ Any idea what the issue is with the amp? (I tested speakers, cables so the issue comes from the amp)
2/ Could turning-off the amp directly damage amp parts/components? (instead of putting on stand-by with the remote control before turning off the amp)
3/ What are the price and time necessary to repair this?
4/ If you are not in the position to do this, would you recommend a shop to fix this in London? (ideally in SW London as I am based in Putney).Thank you very much for your attention, any tip is welcome.

Was greeted by a very pleasant and extremely helpful member of staff. He explained what they would do, what I would need to do and if I wanted to go ahead with the repair I could pay in person as he was aware of my computer situation.
On collection I was greeted by Norbert the very pleasant staff member again who handed me the headphones in a protective case. I was absolutely overjoyed. I thought they were beyond being fixed. How wrong could I be. They're definitely as good as new. -

I broke my Bose headphones trying to fit new ear cushions which proved impossible for me to fit. I found Electronic Partners … read more details online and contacted them. They paid for the postage of my headphones to them, assessed the damage and gave me a very reasonable quote to repair them. They fixed the damage and also fitted the ear cushions for me, then returned the headphones in perfect working order. They even offered me a one year warranty for their work which I took out for £10.
All in all a very professional and helpful service and gave me my much loved headphones back with new ear cushions and working perfectly. So much cheaper than buying a new pair. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
