Oppo BD93 blue ray might be a failing laser, see below
It seems happy now with blue rays, it some times says no disc with SACD or DVD audio, BUT if it says no disc and I then put in a blu ray, then take the blue ray out, and put the SACD/DVD audio back in it reads it fine.
When it reads discs it is quite noisey but it does not make a noise when it is about to say no disc.
I have used a CD leaning disc, and also had the lid off, the the top of the disc reader and can't see any obvious dirt.

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
