Hello,
I found your webpage by googling for some amplifier repair services. I have a class D 5 channel car amp that is not working (phoenix gold SX 1200.5), do you repair these kinds of amps?
I got the amp second hand being told it works but when I powered it up on my desk (stupidly without current limiting) there was a hissing sound and smoke started coming out of it. I took the cover off but couldn't see any burnt parts inside or where the smoke came from. The positive and negative rails seem to be shorted so I can't test components or parts of the board without removing parts which I'd rather not do (beyond my ability to do properly).
If you think a repair is possible, what kind of ballpark cost do you think it would be? Although I do understand that its impossible to tell properly without actually having the amp.
