1) Main problem: The unit does not start. It comes on with just blue lights. Display lights up but no text. Local service engineer said motherboard had gone, and cannot be fixed.
2) If problem 1) could be fixed then, I would like a quote for CD player to be fixed. It starts skipping after a minute or less of playing.

Was greeted by a very pleasant and extremely helpful member of staff. He explained what they would do, what I would need to do and if I wanted to go ahead with the repair I could pay in person as he was aware of my computer situation.
On collection I was greeted by Norbert the very pleasant staff member again who handed me the headphones in a protective case. I was absolutely overjoyed. I thought they were beyond being fixed. How wrong could I be. They're definitely as good as new. -

All in all a very professional and helpful service and gave me my much loved headphones back with new ear cushions and working perfectly. So much cheaper than buying a new pair. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
