The Toslink digital audio connector on the cable snapped off when the playbar fell to the floor leaving part of the audio connector embedded inside. I managed to remove it by embedding a tiny screw (with much downward and twisting force) and then pulling the broken piece out with pliers and now a new cable can be inserted but presumably I damaged the connector within the speaker. It also appears that I have pushed the power connector further inside the speaker.
