They now stick when they are used, they presumably need to be cleaned and replaced. The backspace key has been further damaged due to an attempted self repair and is now loose on the keyboard and needs to be replaced.

EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
