One of the pins on the female fan header snapped so I desoldered the plug and soldered the fain directly to the mainboard. Upon first reboot it worked just fine but the control cable (blue) had come loose so it was spinning at 100%. I reconnected the blue wire and then the laptop would no longer turn on. Disconnecting the fan still leaves the laptop with no signs of life.
