we have been told – the charger is functional and is providing the correct voltage to the laptop. The DC Charging port inside the machine also appears to be intact and all of the electronic connections on the back of the DC port are receiving the correct voltage – the battery also seems to be receiving a charge from the charger and seems to be holding a good capacity itself. however the laptop still will not turn on despite all of this – it is suspected this may be caused by a fault on the motherboard which could not be tested further as a boardview and schematic of the motherboard was not available

EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
