The battery on my laptop was previously noting 'plugged in, not charging' and would automatically turn off when not connected to the power source. I have tried Microsoft's advice and the battery has not been working for 2+ years. Now the battery states 'Plugged in, Charging' but will not run on the battery and still turns off as soon as the power source is removed. The battery currently states it is at 255% available (plugged in), however when the battery icon is fully open, it states '100% Fully Charged'. Regardless, it will not retain a charge and function without being connected to the power supply.
