The controller had stopped working ever since I replaced its thumbsticks (about a year ago). It does however, turn on sometimes whilst the cable is on and only the following buttons register/work: X, PS Home, Options. I have replaced the ribbon cable and battery since then but nothing seems to work. I now believe it has an issue with the motherboard as parts of it look slightly discoloured.
