Hi,
I have an PS4 (slim version) that requires a reball solder of the APU.
When connected to power and pressing the power ON button, it beeps and flashes the white light briefly but it turns off immediately; to ensure this was a BLOD due to the APU solder joints, I did take out the plastic covers and after applying some pressure over the heatsink while powering the console ON, I did confirm that it is able to power ON and keep powered ON for a long time even if I completely release pressure of the heatsink.
Reheating the solder joints may eventually solve the problem but, to avoid it happening again, perhaps reballing the APU completely using lead solder is a better solution. The console is currently open (plastic covers taken out).
Are you currently able to do this reball process?
Can you confirm that the length of your warranty on this service is 3 months and how can I extend it to 12 months?
