These are active studio monitor loudspeakers, using class D.
When I switch on 1 speaker it hums steadily but after being on for a few minutes, it subsides. Unfortunately over the course of a few months, this has developed into screeching when powered on, which gradually turns into a loud buzzing …and subsides after a few minutes.I found a report on the internet where someone had the same issue. They opened them up to see what was going on and found a capacitor had swelled slightly, so they changed the capacitors and now they work perfectly.
