Hi, the jack on my headphones audio technica ath a700 started to fail, I cut it off and tried to resolder the 3 wires, ground, left and right channels, onto a new jack, I managed to do it and it worked for a few months but it eventually started to cause problems again due to my not so great soldering skills.
I did try to resolder it again but my hands werent steady enough and its a shame that decent’ish headphones have to be thrown away because of a jack problem.The cable is wrapped in cloth, when the jack isnt on, the cloth tends to climb back up the cable, all that is needed is to pinch the cable at the top where it attaches to the headphones and then gently run your fingers down the cable and the cloth then extends down past the edge of the cable where the jack was, cloth might need trimmed to fit cable length if it is too long.
Is it possible to put a new jack on for me ? The three wires are extremely thin, copper for ground, and a red and a blue wire for right and left sound channels.
If it can be done can I get an estimate please.
