One of the 2.5mm jacks on the speaker cable is bent and more importantly the headphone jack socket for the 2.5mm jack has worked lose and when I took the ear cup apart the wiring to the socket came away from the ear cup. The jack socket will need refitting to the ear cup and resoldering. I have all the parts but if you would want to put a new one in thats fine.
The cable needs a new 2.5mm jack, it is a specific type that fits the hifiman headphone. I have a couple that will fit and it would probably be better to change both to match. Again if you wanted to fit your own that is ok.

As the DVD player sound surround system was around 20yrs old I was surprised that Electronic Partners were able to undertake a repair and give us many more years service of our system meaning no wastage of all the other perfectly good parts such as the speakers. EP also met my need in delaying the return postage until a time that I was able to be at home to receive the DVD player.
