    I have a single Beolab 8000 speaker that I am getting no noise output at all, it was purchased by me with it’s pair brand new in 1996. At present when in stand-by the diode at the bottom of the speaker is orange and not the deep red as normally displayed in stand-by. When I turn the unit on the diode turns to green and there is the click of a relay but absolutely no sound output at all.
    I have tried with the speaker switch in both the Left and Right position ( I do not use line-in due to Powerlink to all my speakers) but have no sound at all emitting from the speaker, I cannot even tell if there is any hiss.
    I have tried the speaker in other speaker locations to convince myself that it is not a Powerlink cable, but the result is exactly as above.
    Do you have any idea as to the cause of the fault and an estimate of how much it would cost to repair my speaker?
    Also if you did repair my speaker would you need me to bring up the corresponding Beolab 8000 as a pair?
