    Hi there,
    I recently bought some Passive Hitachi bookshelf speakers from eBay.., one of which has arrived damaged.
    As you can see from the photo attached, the outer tweeter housing is cracked, & the tweeter speaker is now loose inside the cabinet.
    (I'm guessing it was dropped during transit).

    I wired it to an amp & ran audio through it.
    I'm actually getting sound through the tweeter still, but no sound through the main mid cone…

    So in a nutshell the issues are :
    a) no sound from the mid-cone
    b) tweeter needs re-attaching.
