Amazon has announced the budget-friendly Blink Video Doorbell, making it the first doorbell camera from Blink. And it costs less than £50/$50.
The affordable camera to watch over your doorstep promises long-lasting battery life, HD day and night video, two-way audio and chime app alerts. The Blink Video Doorbell can be installed wired or wire-free and arrives alongside the Blink Floodlight Camera and Blink Solar Panel Mount.
“The new Blink Video Doorbell provides affordable, easy-to-use, reliable security at your front door, and is the perfect first step for customers looking to build out a smart home security system,” said Mike Harris, chief operating officer at Blink.
If you don’t want a wired doorbell, the Blink Video Doorbell takes two AA lithium batteries and battery life will vary. However, wired or paired with a Sync Module 2, means the device will last up to two years.
As you would expect with a video doorbell, you can see who is at your door and speak to them. You’ll get notifications and can wire it into your existing home doorbell chime if you like.
The Blink can also be used with Alexa, pairing it with compatible Echo and Fire devices. This means you can do things via voice command with the Blink Smart Home Skill.
The Blink Video Doorbell is available from today via Amazon priced at £49.99/$49.99 in two colours (black or white) and includes a 30-day trial of the Blink Subscription Plan. This is needed to record, save and share events or you can save locally with no subscription fees with a Blink Sync Module and USB flash drive.
