We Fix What Others Can't
Nope, Apple Music still isn’t available on Android (though it’s being actively tested). Instead, the second Android app that Cupertino has officially published is in support of the hardware half of its Beats acquisition. It’s a companion and pairing app for the Beats Pill+, the latest revision of Beats’ portable Bluetooth speaker. That’s it. That’s […]
Motorola has officially announced the Moto X Force, the international version of the DROID Turbo 2 that became available from Verizon Wireless earlier today. You might remember it by its codename, Bounce. The company didn’t say much in the announcement. Actually, it didn’t say anything. We’re treated to a ‘coming soon’ page on Motorola’s UK site (pictured […]
There’s an app on your phone with maps of what’s going on at ground level, but what about in the air? If you’re going to fly a drone around, as people are increasingly doing, it might be nice to know how close you are to obstacles and where you’re not supposed to fly. That’s what […]
YouTube started offering 360-degree videos earlier this year, but now the app has been updated with full support for Cardboard-compatible VR viewers. Didn’t that already happen? Yes, it did. Apparently it’s better now? In addition, you can watch any video in Cardboard, even if it wasn’t filmed for full VR. YouTube has a playlist of […]
The first few Android Wear watches from mid-2014 were watches in name only. They were really more like tiny screens strapped to your wrist that told the time. The design of Android Wear devices has evolved significantly since then, and now there are some that look like honest-to-goodness watches. The second gen Moto 360 and […]
A lot of teams and companies use Basecamp to track projects (we use it here at Android Police even), and today there’s a new version of Basecamp. Basecamp 3 is a complete revamp of the service, and there’s an Android app to go along with it. If you’ve been using Basecamp for your own project or […]
ATT announced NumberSync a few weeks ago as a way to share a single mobile number with multiple ATT devices. Now we get to see what sort of extra gadgets ATT is looking to push with NumberSync. The Samsung Gear S2 and 2nd gen LG Watch Urbane LTE smart watches are going to be the launch […]
Compared to the early days of Android and iOS, it’s amazing how good virtual keyboards have become… but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement. Long email and street addresses in particular are a pain to type in, especially outside of the browser where saved user information isn’t available. If you’re tired of typing […]
You can’t get the new Moto X from any of the carriers directly, but Verizon does have two Motorola devices ready to go right now. The newly announced DROID Maxx 2 and Turbo 2 are on sale through Verizon’s website and in stores. The Turbo 2 is the more expensive of the two, but the Maxx 2 isn’t […]
Amazon really likes to package a bunch of regularly paid apps and give them away for free, seemingly at every opportunity. The latest batch is ostensibly in honor of Halloween, though a lot of the paid apps being offered don’t really have any connection with the holiday. We don’t mind – anyone who’s been keeping […]
Sending out updates through the Play Store can be a frustrating experience for users and developers alike. Just because a publisher says the update is out now, that doesn’t mean it is. The app goes through processing, then it goes out at the speed of Google. Now developers will have more control. Google is giving them […]
The Microsoft Garage has given birth to a myriad of interesting apps with limited utility, but everyone needs a home screen, right? Microsoft made Arrow Launcher available as a beta over the summer, but now it’s available in the Play Store for everyone to try. It’ll take some getting used to, though. This isn’t just […]
